bonding
This artist should make any university or college proud for he is quietly one of America's foremost visual poets. When will we Americans open our eyes and honor such people accordingly. It is clear he is more than a casual friend to these scenic places but one who has bonded heart and soul. As with Thoreau Nature is his awesome, enchanting bride,

Delaware Water Gap Workshop
I took a workshop with Albert at the beautiful Delaware Water Gap. It was a mix of sun, clouds and rain which enabled us to shoot in a variety of conditions. Albert believes composition is king and works with you in “seeing” the shot before looking through the viewfinder and how best to compose while looking through it. He also has a thorough understanding of the equipment: camera, lenses, tripods, filters, accessories. This mini-workshop included a presentation on composition and other useful tips. I am applying what I learned all the time. After the workshop I sent him images and promptly received a very detailed critique on each one. All in all, I found the whole experience rewarding, enjoyable and a lot of bang for the buck!

White Mountains Masters Scenic Workshop
I just returned from a 35 day vacation trip up through the North East USA the highlight of which was a four day Masters Scenic Workshop with Albert Valentino in the White Mountains. This was a great four days. I learned more about scenic photography in those four days than I thought would be possible. This was intensive instruction usually starting at 4:10 AM for a sunrise capture until around 8:00 PM in the evening for a sunset and any number of shooting locations in between. This is definitely not a course for the beginner. You have to know your camera functions and how to make the changes needed without a lot of thought. His instructions covered the effects of shutter speed to aperture to focusing to depth of field to neutral density, CPL filters to achieve the optimum capture of the scene and much more. He also covers using the Histogram display on the back of the camera to evaluate the exposure made and how to make any needed adjustments. The perfect White Balance is not always your objective but should be used to achieve different effects. But above all he talks about composition, composition and more composition. He explains the elements of it, how to combine them and use them to achieve the best photo possible. Last but not least he goes into post processing and how to use various programs available on the market to take the RAW data file captured with the camera and make it a “WOW” picture. If you are a serious photographer this is definitely a workshop you want to schedule.

Your Pictures
Fantastic pictures. Some of the best of New York I have seen. I was looking for an example of Top of the Rock night photos to see what has been achieved. Like you, I am trying to plan the type of shot I want now so when I arrive next Saturday I am ready.Just wanted to say that your photos were some of the best I have seen...just amazing!! I didn't consider Fisheyes before but think I will rent one while visiting! Keep up the amazing photos. If I can take some just 10% as good as you I would be happy! Chris

Great Pix
I have known Valentino for a long time, and he truly is, and always has been, a Renaissance man.
